Is there ANY chance that DLC comes out with more fish? I am obsessed with fishing.

Also, I can't stop playing. I have like, nothing to do...But I just keep catching fish or bugs or shells and selling them. It's so therapeutic.

This game must have sold a shit ton of Switches. There isn't one available within like a 30 mile radius of my house (Chicago suburbs).

I'm supposed to be working from home, but I just had to give it a little play. God it's so lovely :) I have a cheetah/leopard guy, and a superhero rabbit, so I'm pretty happy.
I called my island Esperanto, which means 'hope', seemed appropriate at the moment...It's also a nice Red Dwarf reference for any old timers out there.
Uh, in which language? In Spanish, 'hope' is 'esperanza'. I think Esperanto is a made up language.

Coincidentally, I was about to name my New Leaf town Esperanza.

Thanks for the advice. I, thankfully, did not encounter many T-rex in the previous games. I have to admit I must be a target because I've been knocked out like 6 or 7 times by tarantulas and bees. This is the true wild world...lol
This is what they were like in WW, CF, and NL:

Their no-net behavior is still the same, though. If you aren't holding a net you can run right over them and they won't pay you any mind. Yesterday I stepped out of Nook's tent and started running and didn't notice a tarantula right in front of the tent until I ran right over it. It just scurried away.

Sorry, I haven't read through everything, but am I the only one noticing the framerate drops when playing in docked mode? Framerate was completely smooth when it handheld, but the moment I went into docked, I started noticing occasional quick dips.

done with my day 2 session, stuff acomplished:

- got the 15 donations to Blather so go the proper museum going
- got the first inventory expansion
- got the better tool DIY recipes
- found various other bugs and fishes and house items as I fucked around getting miles

good session. And now im good until tomorow, gonna finish Ori or something. I am actually super into having this game to play "on the side", not sure how viable that is later on, but for now im not sure I would grind it out much more than what im doing now without getting burned out tbh.

I saw some folks frustrated at the lack of fruit variety in their Mystery Island tours. It's just luck.

I got foreign fruit (Oranges!) on my third flight.

Spider and player straight gangsta...LOL. I would never run in time, so I guess that's why I never knew.

I bought this game for my mum's birthday since she loved the one on 3DS so much and oh my christ it is hell. I let her name the island and she didn't even give it a capital letter, it literally haunts me every time I see it. She also didn't capitalise her name which whilst not as bad is still pretty horrible. I'll bear it since it's her birthday present but my god I wish we could have separate islands. I'm stuck with a lowercase island for the rest of eternity now...

Thanks for that, just had her create her character, she has a profile.

One island sounds crazy but can she at least play on the island without me?

Yes she can, she will have her own tent/house and be apart of the island also. I just left a bunch of gifts outside my daughters house and bought a bunch of stuff from nook and sent them to her mailbox so she will have a bunch of surprises in the morning when she wakes up.

Should I just get the home contract as soon as it's available so I get miles+? I was planning on keeping the tent but seems like if I want to do some more progressing tonight I may need to move on to the house.

I've been restarting the game for like 2 hours chasing the perfect combination of map/fruit/neighbors. It's diabolical the way they randomize it.

Wait. Are you talking about best friends as in the option in the Switch friends menu, or is there a specific one in game? I haven't seen any way to add friends to a list anywhere in-game besides trying to just visit their islands (do both parties need an NSO account to just send letter?).
Once you visit their island, or they visit you, you get the option to add them to your best friend list in game. You'll get a new app on your phone the first time you have someone visit/visit someone. Once you are on the same island you can add them in game. When you do this it allows you to gift them things from the shop that they get instantly or you can send them a postcard with a gift in it that takes a day to arrive.

So I didn't remember to invite people when I went on Island trips till now. I get to the island (3rd one) and I see a silhouette that looks like Bunny or Dottie, and I get there and its someone name Mimi. Since I don't have many miles left I decide to invite no matter what, and Mimi completely creeps me out. It is something about the look on their face. I took a picture and its truly terrifying. But I invited her because she seems very positive! : ] hopefully it works out.

Also caught and Oarfish and it was the scariest thing. I though the game was crashing or glitching out!!

I can't get over how GOOD this game looks!

I was worried it would be a pixelly mess on the 4K TV and... it's outstanding! AC has never been a graphical showcase for Nintendo until now.
I wish it would show the 3D models of the critters in the phone though. I like the unique art there as well, but I want to see the detail!

I gotta hand it to the producers, the Nook Miles are diabolic and ingenious and I'm wondering how I played AC without them before. Whether you want to do whatever you want or you want to get more miles, pretty much everything you do is in service of getting you either miles or bells. The game rewards whatever play style you choose (well, unless you're impatient. Those are the only people losing out)

I just landed at a Nook Miles island that hosts 5-6 Tarantulas on a small patch of waterlocked land, and they endlessly respawn.

I'm 'bout to pay off my house with these bastards

Oh snap I didn't know you can invite others to live on your island! Talking to those you meet on Nook Miles+ you can invite them to stay with you

Do I have to literally pull up the line as soon as the fish nibbles on it? Cause I push the a button rifht after and I get no fish ans the fish disappears

Visited two different Random Islands. First one had Bella -

And second one had Poppy -

Not really sure about having Bella on my Island but that Metal Shirt convinced me, and Poppy is a cute-looking Squirrel that was a no brainer.

I really like these Island excursions. These are nice.

I'm actually surprised at how quickly I get bored of this game...

Haven't played an Animal Crossing since GC days. But I played tonight for maybe a 1.5 hours. Pulled every weed, chopped every tree and rock and paid off my dues already via the Miles system. But it all felt a little unfulfilling. Hoping that it hooks me more later on. But I can't really play this game for very long at one time.
