Damn just started my game, I got blue airport and peaches straight away so I'm happy! I'm a little annoyed tho because the map I choose has a plot of land surrounded by a ring of water and I wanted to put my house in the middle but I'm stupid because I can't because I can't even get there when picking a place to put my tent :(

Go to the Switch's memory menu in the "system" menu, select Animal Crossing and delete save datas.
Animals will be confused if you enter their house and leave without talking to them:

I TT'd to the second day because I ran out of stuff to do and then TT'd back to today and am running out of stuff to do again until other stuff gets built lol. I want to keep playing but I don't want to deviate from the normal experience!
I'm a fan of the Nook Miles system. It's nice to have little goals to keep you playing, while also not pushing you beyond playing more than a little bit each day if you don't want to.
Might have preferred if it were a bit more varied, though.

Flimsy axe and nothing gets destroyed unless you eat fruit.
I managed to get 20ish iron nuggets today buying 2 or 3 Nook Miles tickets. Trust me, it was a lot of grinding for that lol.

Im honestly really surprised at how fast the game switches from abandoned island tent life to yo here's a house. Didn't expect that at all and guessed it'd take weeks. I'll miss the tents incredible soft glow already lol

You have to start from scratch, or at least that's what it seems like. But after several handovers to Tom Nook, you can no longer give him any, and the rest can go to the museum.
I'm sure that's what I meant, my self isolation during this time has messed up my sense of what day of the week it is lol

You got very lucky if those were from the rocks just on your island.
For those who are mining rocks:
I THINK it's possible to use the old "dig a hole behind you to cushion the knock back" trick we used to use on money rocks to mine more materials.

i got 10 iron nuggets total from those flying gifts. also got 40,000 bells and a gold nugget.
Just the rocks around about a quarter of it actually. Just unlocked the pole and am about to venture forth!
Spent about an hour playing and I'm absolutely loving it, it's just great to have this game right now with everything happening.
