Never thought I'd see a black villager, and with that hair. Bout time!
me to nintendo rnNever thought I'd see a black villager, and with that hair. Bout time!
I've never played an Animal Crossing game. With the current situation of the world, I could maybe go for something calm and relaxing to spend a few minutes on every now and then.
What would be a good review to read/video to watch to get a grasp on what I'd be in for?
Hanging out with us, and use of QR codes for importing custom designs. There's a graphic somewhere in the thread detailing what is included. So, what exactly would you be missing out on with no Nintendo Network/Switch Online account? I have a paid Switch Online subscription, but my wife's user profile on my Switch does not. She doesn't even have a Nintendo Network ID (or whatever they call it these days). She'll be playing Animal Crossing at least as much as me, so will she be missing out on anything?
Question: If I dig up something, do I have to fill in the hole or wil it disappear on its own?
your native fruit is on your passport
you can never truly scrub away the stench of pear

They disappear the next time you start up your game in NL, should be the same in NH but I'll test it real quick for you.I didn't realize it, but this might be the most important question we've had.
Anyone know?

Cheeky 😉Thanks! On a related note - Is the "advanced move" of digging a hole behind you to harvest the money rock still in?
this wait is murder 🙃
edit - but on the plus side, a friend let me into their family network for nintendo online access, so that'll be nice haha
If you bought it from the japanese eshop it's already unlocked.
darn it! east coast here, do i seriously have to wait til midnight? If you bought it from the japanese eshop it's already unlocked.
Yeahdarn it! east coast here, do i seriously have to wait til midnight?
There is some bit of enjoyable irony in that since so few people want pears they are actually rare and valuable.I learned to never shit on pears. I needed them once and couldn't find them anywhere
If they aren't big name, they are probably doing what I did and just buy a bunch of japanese eshop cards and download the japanese version (which has English option)
It's still in 👍Thanks! On a related note - Is the "advanced move" of digging a hole behind you to harvest the money rock still in?
They all buy Japanese digital copies because it's their job

I'm not sure about all of these (still downloading) but I do know the other NPCs stick around, and that was touted as one of the benefits to playing online since your friends can have the rare visitors on days you don't.So do we know if opening your gate in New Horizons to online visitors sets up limitations like it does in New Leaf?
As a refresher for what happens in New Leaf:
- The Happy Home Showcase is blocked off
- The Dream Suite is disabled
- Access to the 'Mayor chair' in Town Hall is blocked
- Blathers won't accept donations or assess fossils
- Saharah and similar NPCs seem to leave or are otherwise unavailable (e.g. Gulliver won't wake up) - note this does not apply to Katrina or probably Redd, who have tents.
- Bees, spiders and scorpions will not appear
- Favours for villagers, such as deliveries, cannot be performed
As far as I'm aware you can, not all the triggers as used just the left trigger and right bumper!Hey! Question, will this be playable with the gamecube controller? Or are there too many commands for it.
How long is the restarting process?Well damnit, first island and I get PEARS and my airport is GREEN. Guess who's restarting!! :P

Check the Discord link in the OP and join us there! We'll be visiting each others towns (for fun, turnips, fruit sharing, gardening help, etc) for sure :)One thing I never got into in previous games was the online component. Do we have any plans for a kind of ERA group for online? Does it even work that way?
You have to do a bit of conversation stuff, type your name, birthday and select the island. There's a presentation movie that plays but you can skip, so I think it took me around 3-4 minutes or so?
