Wonder if it will be enough to get me playing again, it was my first animal crossing game and it really helped me at the start of the pandemic but I fell off with the lack of updates

Here's hoping this will be enough to make me jump back in again!

I love the game, but there's not much to do anymore and I hope this fixes that.

God I hope they let us skip Isabelle and her damn crosswords, missing socks, and unnamed bands on tv last night

It's so far away! Hopefully I have my replacement switch before the update comes out.

Hoping for a huge dialogue/villager interactions update!

This is still my first AC, so I don't know what I want. I just know I want a lot more. I loved New Horizons for approximately six months.

I have played ACNH everyday since launch, so here's to keeping that streak going.

I hope with 20 minutes they do a little bit of demoing the update but also give us a roadmap through at least the 2nd anniversary.

I also expect some Amiibo Card talk as well.

I think I'm personally done with ACNH at this point, and unlikely to redownload it, but I hope people still playing it get a substantial update here.

Excited! It's sweet that they chose October 15th for the direct which is Brewster's birthday. Hoping for lots of updates!

Let's gooo!! I really hope that they announce some fun mechanics that switch things up beyond Brewster. But also, hoping that Brewster might mean that gyroids are back... Looking for a reason to get back into this game.

I wonder if they'll let us move resident services yet. I'm 50/50 whether to restart my island (after hundreds of hours) because my square is literally 4 blocks from my airport and I hate it.

Hopefully this update is beefy. I've been needing a reason to go back to my island.

I don't know if something like this could happen, but I'd love it so much

At the very least there will be more dialogue surrounding The Roost and Brewster. Characters will will talk about it around the island and they will likely show up in The Roost with unique dialogue.

If Nintendo does more seasonal updates, there will be dialogue there as well. As there has been with the the updates since launch.

As someone that has played everyday since launch I comes across dialogue that is either new to me or I have forgotten about. I know there is still some I haven't see as I have never had 2 Sisterly villagers on an island I think they have a unique interaction with each other.

My og switch got robbed and while I'm getting a switch oled soon I doubt Nintendo will let me do cloud save recovery.

First animal crossing game and loved it at the start of the pandemic but over time its just felt like there isnt many meaningful targets for me to hit anymore. Hope this adds something substantial.

This really needs to be a big update. Really hoping for QoL changes to how multiplayer works and an organized catalog that is at least close to what Pocket Camp has.

Bring back every NPC villager. "Everyone is here!" Probably not gonna happen, but I can dream haha.

A lot of people want that so it probably won't happen.

They increased storage space in the house which people swore would never happen. They added the ability to remove the overlay in picture mode which stated as a glitch. People complained about Bunny Day and they toned it down.

It's too hard to guess which feedback this team will listen to. I'm hoping they smooth out issues surrounding Dodo airlines. Too much dialogue just trying to open the gate or visit someone. Give me an app in the NookPhone or quick menu of some sort.

If they announce paid DLC, what would you expect what that would feature?

A Happy Home Designer like Mode?
Or Amiibo Festival 2... Just Kidding :D

They could easily squeeze money out of me if they just released soundtrack DLC. Give me some classic tunes as choices for the hourly tracks. And I love NH's OST.

My predictions:
  1. Brewster + The Roost: working at the Café is back with a reward system. Villagers + NPC's can visit the Café. Pastries are new (kinda like cupcakes from your bday). No cooking/veggies/fruits. No gyroids but Brewster will hint them going forward until another update. The Direct will focus heavily on this segment (probably a look at the café, villagers coming in, etc).
  2. New amiibo card set is introduced: includes all new villagers and NPC's from NH. We won't be seeing returning villagers from the GCN that were cut, unfortunately.
  3. New visitor NPC: either Katrina or Lottie (which have been hinted already). I'm leaning more towards Katrina, tbh. Luck system is gone and replaced with something new (probably related to the point system from the Nook app). If it's Lottie, then I predict something about changing our house appearance or our villager's.
  4. No new villager interactions (i.e. villagers visiting your home/new games,/etc) but they will be included in the update, just not in the Direct.
  5. IF they decide to add something else in the Direct (which I doubt, because I feel those 3 things will cover roughly 20 min), I think they'll tease a Nook store upgrade but won't show it until another update.

Hmmm wonder if they can get me back on board, really can't remember the last time I booted this up. It was my first AC game to play but I loved watching my partner play New Leaf and she's played most of the older titles too and her interest fell off of a cliff as well so we'll see.

With Series 5 amiibo cards coming I think it is a safe bet that we will be getting both new and returning villagers added to the game. All previous amiibo card series were 100 cards so I believe that will also be the case for Series 5.

It would need to be a very substantial update if they want me to jump back in again. I haven't played since July of last year because I just got bored with the villagers and the overall lack of activities to do on the island.

Genuinely all they would need to do to hook me back in is fix the mountain of QoL annoyances with the game, but I'd be pleasantly surprised if that happens. I'll tune in anyway though.

Wow, 20 minutes has me hyped.

I still haven't logged on this month to start getting the new Halloween DIYs, so maybe this will finally motivate me to do that.

I hope it's not just some new items for a special event that can all be collected in a few play-through.

We already know it's for a permanent new business that is open 24/7, The Roost, and for the new Amiibo Card series. Likely to include a few other updates as well since it's 20 minutes long.

Don't see that it was mentioned, but the New Leaf Welcome Amiibo Direct was 16 minutes long. If that correlates at all with this one, then we are in for a huge update.

Haven't played in almost a year. Don't know what it would take for me to go back to playing regularly, but I guess I'll watch and see.

Crossing my fingers it's enough to bring me back in for at least the holidays. That's usually when I like to play AC anyways for the comfy cozy Christmas vibes
