Maybe call alt right assholes and people like that trash, but not some that doesn't have your same opinions on games? So mich hypebole over someone that posts innocent opinion videos.

You can only come to this conclusion if you ignore a majority of his videos. He seemed to love the hell out of almost every one of Nintendo's offerings other than Pokemon. But he said one bad thing so who cares about the dozens of other videos right? smh
Currently going through it.
It's Pokemon and the basic, very, very, very basic formula is still there so is enjoyable enough but my God, is the presentation as a whole terrible. I don't think that games necessarily need voice acting but when the opening guy started to tell you about the world of Pokemon the lack of it became extremely detrimental and the game doesn't really recover from it. The wild area suffers from bad framerate (despite that the poor graphics were supposedly to allow a better performance) and it might as well be a big empty field since there's nothing interesting to do aside from catching Pokemon which gets old pretty fast.
Again, just starting but if the game actually gets worse then I might as well sell it and wait until the franchise becomes competent again. Thank God I didn't pay full price for this.
Arlo is certainly culprit for this but come on, Sword&Shield being poor games is faaaaaar from an unpopular opinion.
Wow, Arlo surely is negative when he doesn't like a game! How dare him not pretend to have different tastes!
I don't understand people saying someone is a bad critic because they're too negative. Feels like they went in wanting to have their own views reaffirmed instead of being curious about the reviewers'.
People thinking negativity is a bad trait. Why do some ITT seem confused about the nature of subjectivity in reviews? Is the whole puppet thing throwing you off? Arlo's content is filtered through his perspective and he doesn't pretend otherwise.
Anyone else notice that everyone is trying to perform character assassination rather than arguing any of the points he made in the video?
I mean is that not what is happening? Rather than watching the video and arguing the points, the first reaction is to simply insult the guy and trash him constantly as a means to devalue their opinion.
It's like actually wild, this thread's a huge mess for like no reason. If the blue puppet man upsets you that much that you need to hang around and call him "trash" or "overly negative" or "too nostalgic for the Gamecube" or whatever weird stuff I've seen in here, maybe you shouldn't be in a thread about his video lmaoWow this thread became an embarrassing mess fast. Maybe... don't attack a reviewer for disliking a game?
please stop saying things like "character assassination" in regards to people not liking a milquetoast youtuber's forty minute long video about pokemon
or keep doing it i guess, it's funny in its own way
Well, I 100% agree with him there.Nah, he didn't like 3DWorld as much as Sunshine despite of it being a much better game.
Are we reading different threads? People came in having not watched the video and instantly went after Arlo after seeing others say that he didn't like it. Another saying that they're happy to see "people turn on him".
If people were actually watching the video and giving reasons why they disagree that would be one thing but people aren't attacking the points in the video, they're attacking the person making the points.
Or are you going to say that is not the case?
It's a long one. He wasn't very positive on Sword & Shield previously either, says his impressions video said he liked it, but now by the end he couldn't help noticing all the flaws. Likes the wild area, but doesn't think it fulfils its potential, and the rest of the game doesn't live up to the wild area. Graphically and sound wise he's also disappointed. Route design is also unchanged, and the game feels sluggish. Raid battles also end up being a pain by the late game.
after the dust has settled the brave arlo enters the ring to re litigate the list of negatives from a month ago
so brave
The gold standard
i don't really care what people are doing
referring to people dunking on a youtuber as character assassination is something a person would say as a joke, not as a serious point.
it's very hard to take you seriously when you do these things
I don't really get what you're trying to do here other than trying to justify it.
really just here to watch the shit show and chuckle at bad posts
would like to humbly thank you for your contributions :)
I'm not sure I'd call any part of Sword and Shield's story "fully realized". Basically all the interesting parts happen off screen, and it just sort of devolves into complete nonsense around the time you get to Wyndon.Honestly, the problem with Arlo is that his opinions and criticism are on the level of an average Nintendo forumposter and we are too familiar with that. It's not so much a problem if he affirms your opinion but when you see the flaws of the criticism, it sounds kind of whiny.
Also, Sword and Shield do have a plot but since it isn't videogamey and is using the throughline that Pokemon games usually just say instead of have, it is ignored. It's the full realization of the League story. The story is honestly the third-best in the franchise behind Black and White and Sun and Moon. In some ways, it is an improvement upon Sun and Moon's story which overly focused on the Lillie/Lusamine plot to the point of making the rival basic and the final Kahuna fight a nonevent. It's the first one where all the rivals have complete character arcs and the arcs actually build up the player's character arc. The Eternatus fight isn't the climax; it's the final piece to show how far your character has come before the true climax against Leon
In what way is Sword and Shield's story is good? Because all I see is interesting plot threads getting thrown away, bland characters, terrible pacing where nothing happens until the very end, heaps of plot holes, and incomprehensible villains. It's honestly down there with Fire Emblem: Fates for the worst story ever told in a Nintendo game. X/Y's plot looked good compared to this.Honestly, the problem with Arlo is that his opinions and criticism are on the level of an average Nintendo forumposter and we are too familiar with that. The Pokemon fanbase is a mess, if you have bad things to say about SwSh it's because YOU are bad!Wow, Arlo surely is negative when he doesn't like a game! How dare him not pretend to have different tastes!

a troll or just someone who expects a person with fourteen thousand posts to be better at posting
prolly a little of column a and b i guess
It's wild because of how (rightfully) anti-harassment people have been toward Game Freak, but as soon as a Youtuber said they don't like the game all that much, they're busting out the same type of descriptors they were, once again, rightfully so vocal against (character attacks for some reason, calling a person, not their content, "trash", etc.)The Pokemon fanbase is a mess, if you have bad things to say about SwSh it's because YOU are bad!
It's because they never cared in the first place, it was always about defending Pokemon at all costs. It's wild because of how (rightfully) anti-harassment people have been toward Game Freak, but as soon as a Youtuber said they don't like the game all that much, they're busting out the same type of descriptors they were, once again, rightfully so vocal against (character attacks for some reason, calling a person, not their content, "trash", etc.)
It's so creepy when you look into someone's post history like this just to be snarky.a troll or just someone who expects a person with fourteen thousand posts to be better at posting

I'd be insulted if it came from anyone else but at this point you've made it clear that you shouldn't be listened to.
anybody using those words in earnest under this context need to take a step away from the screen.Crazy that the games have been out for weeks now and the people are still running defense like it's their job. It's ok if people don't like a pokemon game, and despite what some would have you believe, it doesn't make you "trash","vile", or "toxic".
Arlo also thought Link's Awakening remake was average to bad, as well as recently discussing how much of a con Nintendo online is. But hey, he liked Luigi's Mansion 3...
People in this thread are being incredibly toxic because their favorite franchise is being criticized. That's sadder.i don't really care what people are doing
