Based on leaked benchmarks I saw from some Brazillian youtuber last night, at 1080p the 5600x is out-preforming the 10900k in most games. I think at the time 3700x was competitive with the 9900k. I think if you're going for an upgrade, getting in on Zen 3 will be very benefitial, especially if you're not already on Zen 2.

For a pure gaming workload the 5600x is going to comfortably be the faster chip.

Hmm, I'm basically building an almost entire new PC. That said, I could get the 3700x cheaper than the 5600x, specially factoring in the import fees. That would increase the 5600x a lot more I think, so I'm gonna check reviews and make a better informed decision. Specially with games that uses more cores and all stuff

Just really, really crossing my fingers those Paypal orders didn't go through. Newegg order history says I'm good, but those $500+ preauthorizations are freaking me out lol

Proshop was the first to show the "Buy" button as i frantically F5'd, so they got my business this time.
Bloody hell the site was slow to respond though.
At least it didn't actually crash, until I got a 504 bad gateway on the very final step that I think just brings you back to a "thanks for your order" screen.

Did all the payment stuff, money is reserved and I got an order confirmation.
So it should be done, and now it's just a matter of what place I managed to get in line and when I'll actually get the damned thing.

Oh I hate this. But now I hopefully won't have to do it for another five years or so.

Got mine at Proshop just before the site crashed. Phew. Delivery between 10 and 17 November though... 😒
My order confirmation says "between 09-11-2020 - 17-11-2020."
9th or 10th would be 3-4 working days, tolerable. But yeah that "- 17-11-2020" isn't particularly encouraging.
At least it looks like it won't be seven weeks like the 3080...

Got my 5900x via Newegg, says packaging now. My first ever PC build is so tangibly close now, that 5900x is the final part with everything else ready and waiting for build day. Hell of a lot easier than getting my 3080 FTW.

Anyone have the 5600x Amazon link? Is there anything left?

B&H preorder says backordered lol...might call MicroCenter later today to see if there's anything left but I doubt it

God I was hoping so hard this wouldn't turn into another 3080/3090 search.....I'm just so tired of it at this point.

Wasn't able to get anything. This feels a lot like the 3xxx series launch. I have a "preorder" from B&H let's see what happens with that.

Got myself a 5900x!
The price is ~ 636 USD here (Korea), which isn't too bad!
I was expecting more than ~ 670 USD to be honest.

Congrats to those who got an order in. Amazon wasn't adding to cart, but I managed to get through on the newegg app, the last item I needed for my new build so excited.

Congrats to people who got it yea! Including myself it seems!

For Holland at least it seems places still have them, just sites are loading slowly.

The 5800x looks so bad in these reviews valuewise. <10% better than a 10700F while being 30% more expensive. Way worse than the 3700x vs 10700K ever was.

AMD’s Zen 3 CPUs are here—we test the blistering-fast 5900X and 5950X

It's official: Intel lost the single-threaded desktop performance crown to AMD.

Availability for the 5900X was really quite decent. Hopefully the cheapest I got to snag at MSRP shows up by Saturday, so I can build!

Sucks that it's impossible to buy new tech at launch. Wanted to get a new build going but I am totally not hunting for this shit again. 3080 was enough of a pain in the ass.

Ummm... so what does Intel even do now?
These benches are nuts. Even the 5600X is beastly for its price segment.

So my plan is to put a 3600 in my new build this year, seen as I am most likely not going to be able to get a 3080 this year either. Next year I'll upgrade to the 5700x once it releases and either sell the 3600 or put it in a small media PC.

Made the decision to pick one up next year (3600 - > ? or best price/performance), hopefully in a Microcenter price reduction of some sorts. I don't want to deal with any more hardware launches after the 3080. Congrats to all those that got one and I hope those still looking for one snag your preferred pick.

Looks like scan.co.uk crapped it's pants, got order confirmation but nothing under my order history, can't even tell if I got stock or it went to pre-order.
How can these websites still be so useless after all these rush launches, ridiculous.

Ordered a 5800X from Scan, got the confirmation email but my orders page on the site isn't showing it. Hoping it's gone through!

Can we start shitting on AMD for being just as bad as Nvidia yet?
In terms of supply and availability? Too early to say. We'll see if in six weeks I still don't have a CPU.
But AMD is at least also bad. From what I saw, Webhallen had five 5800X, Inet fifteen. That is paltry.

I will say it's jaw dropping seeing AMD improve Ryzen performance and branding to the point where they're actually getting a pricing premium over Intel for the same cores. Obviously the performance is now better on all fronts now core for core.

Gaming performance for even the top of the range 5000 series CPU's is mostly the same to a sub $200 3600 at 1440p and above.

For a purely gaming PC that I'll only be playing at higher resolutions (with an RTX 3080) it's still the smart choice to go with the 3600 right?

Scan don't show orders until they are invoiced. It'll appear soon.
