Mate that's awful. Screw these losers.
Also why wasn't this clear attempt to bash the game picked up on by MC?! A sudden mass voting should trigger an auto lock or at least flag the game for an admin to check.

I'll just say that I had a very negative impression of VLR's cast minus Luna, Quark, and Zero III, having even ultimately liked Clover in 999 but hated her in VLR outside of one path. Arguably the nature of the Ambidex Game contributed to this, but that alone can't be blamed for how unlikeable most of them were. VLR also had the worst character designs in the trilogy, a shame after how great Kinu Nishimura did with 999's designs. The puzzles were needlessly obtuse from my perspective, and I preferred how 999 did things (math included). The atmosphere of the moon base in VLR was also quite weak compared to 999's Titanic replica setting. Both had great soundtracks, but personally I'd say 999 used its music better (will give VLR the nod for the better downtime theme with Placidity over 999's Extreme Extrication, though). I also didn't care for how much tamer the violence and imagery were in VLR compared to 999 as a result of Spike citing JP players regarding 999 as "too scary", which led to ZTD overcorrecting once that game was targeted toward fellow Western Zero Escape fans who complained about that.Well, they were serious 99% of the time, and yes, less tropey than the ones in VLR, that in my opinion, apart fropm the still seriousness of all it, had more fun characters and routes.
I also found the puzzles less maths problem and more intuition. I know people talk better about 999 in this forum, but I didnt enjoy it very much and only got VLR becuase a friend of mine gifted me the game for the Vita and I gave it a shot.
While i enjoyed the setting of 999 better, and thats the only thing i enjoyed more between both games, I hated they really never did anything with such a cool premise as in "we seem to be inside a clone of the Titanic, what if it actually is the Britannic or the Olympic?" As a big fan of the history of the titanic, when the game started I was incredibly interested in that part, and then goes to fuck no where (becuase, yes, its not an important part of the story), but if thats the case, dont make me a bite and switch. At least VLR didnt do that.I'll just say that I had a very negative impression of VLR's cast minus Luna, Quark, and Zero III, having even ultimately liked Clover in 999 but hated her in VLR. Other than that, I also preferred the more personal nature of 999's story, and didn't care for how much the scope of everything expanded in VLR.
Good to know :Dyea, it's much lighter and more fun. I laughed a lot at the jokes. The English dub was also amazing.
The translation is accurate, I played it with Japanese voices and that's what she said in Japanese as well. I liked the game a lot, unfortunate that this is happening. It's weird that this would happen now, seemingly out of nowhere.
Has a popular streamer played the game and recently got to it or something?
I know absolutely nothing about this game except for that scene - and it was back near the game's launch that I found out about it.
It seemed a bit forced (maybe the translation?) but I appreciate it nonetheless.
Huh, that's a pretty odd thing. If anything, I've seen far more hate from the side of the the crowd that thinks its exploitative of women because of Date's inner thoughts about the secretary (pair of very large breasts behind the desk) and of course Aiba using Date's sexual drive to enhance his reaction speed/reflex/concentration by reusing a schtick with a porno mag and even girl's underwear.
I've never seen much of any damning statement online about Mizuki's feelings on the LGBTQ community.
Personally, I felt that the twist with Sigma in VLR was handled worse, more of a case of the plausibility of it relative to what the character himself would've noticed. While i enjoyed the setting of 999 better, and thats the only thing i enjoyed more between both games, I hated they really never did anything with such a cool premise as in "we seem to be inside a clone of the Titanic, what if it actually is the Britannic or the Olympic?" About the tone, I know im not like the main fanbase of this type of games (Zero Escape and Danaganronpa for example) becuase I really enjoy the more playful lighthearted parts of them.
The character designs feel to me like the went the exact same way in both games, theres good and bad in both of them. And I really enjoyed Sigma and Phi.
That's when you know it's some underbelly group of the internet that has decided to target it.
The game is full of sexual stuff for straight white men. But the LGBT community having some characters and a minute of screen time is too much?
How sad.
Really want to play this. 60 euros a bit too steep, but once it drops a bit I'm in.
Its great but keep in mind this message comes from the little girl talking to the walking shitty drag stereotype who is constantly referred to as a monster.Good game? I keep giving this a pass over but with this pro LGBTQ+ message im interested again.
It is a totally stand-alone story, don't worry!I'll buy this game to show support. Do I need to play any of the previous games before this one or is it stand alone?
So you're saying that in the last few days people bought this game and started talking shit about it for these pro-lgbt sentences? If you're right, it's so fucked up. The message in the OP is wonderful and another reason to buy it, if anything.
Excellent. Thanks metacritic trolls for putting this game on my radar!
"User Reviews" on Metacritic, Steam, and elsewhere, just shouldn't be a thing. They are worthless, in our bleak internet culture where everything is either awesome or trash; a ten or a zero.
And even that assumes people are even giving the score based on what they though of the game, versus giving a zero as some sort of protest of something in particular, or giving a 10 to "counter" the zeroes.
Either way, the end result is a system that adds no value.

This is so sad to hear, but I hope they know that a good amount of people played the game and loved it. It was within my top 5 of 2019. I was glad to see the above monologue from Mizuki about LGBTQ+.The lead game designer was SO SAD about this - I explained to him the phenomenon of "review bombing", and I hope he feels better.
This was honestly my GOTY for 2019, and I hope that the counterpoint of the reviewbombing is that more people will become aware of it and play it.
So uh, yeah - please play AI: The Somnium Files.
