Ooof, I love those two. I guess I'll just go for the Silver Case/25th Ward.
If anything, it's the best thing Uchikoshi's made since 999. Never understood anyone's glowing praise for VLR, and never will. Won't even humor the opinion of anything but ZTD being his worst game.
I'm only a few hours into the first game and I love it. It seems like people here don't like Date much, I wonder why that is because I think he's funny.
He was just the right kind of goofy to be entertaining to me, and I include the action scenes in that. Personally, the only pervy Uchikoshi protagonist who didn't work for me was VLR Sigma (ZTD Sigma not being anything like he was in that game at all was actually rather jarring, even if not particularly missed).

I stopped treating Somnium as puzzles and consider them as ways to ask Aiba to do increasingly ridiculous stuff. Clever it is not but I had fun.
The dialogue of Uchikoshi's puzzle segments are some of the things I love about his games. I also like Somniums that way but the time limit and how choices on what to do locking out other fun dialogue is what let me down.

I didn't expect a sequel at all. Definitely here for it though. I loved the first game and really looking forward to playing as Mizuki.

Lol @ her playing a Vita in the opening though. Spike still salty that no one bought one.

Yeah I was initially stressed with the time limits (never liked 'em) but in the end it's just something to limit what a player can do inside Somniums and actually help streamline the game. I don't think I want them back though, I never felt I was playing the Somnium in a way they intended.

Great news. I still need to go back and get more of the endings from the first game. It's a nice puzzle that unravels. I hope they can top some of the stuff that was in the first AI, because I like the twists and themes they used.

I played like 3 hours of the first one, i should finish it. If i can finish Legend of Dragoon before Great Ace Attorney is out, then after GAA i can finish the first game.

If you think that then we enjoy very different kinds of games so I'm just going to skip this.

VLR was my previous fav Uchikoshi game, really liked ZTD, too.

AI is still far and away my favorite game of his. It's absolutely amazing and such an incredible step forward in terms of presentation and writing

Considering I rate AI second only to 999 in Uchikoshi's catalogue, extremely pleased about this. And making Mizuki the main character is something that never occurred to me, but in retrospect is pretty much the best choice they could make.

Also, 10/10 for the non-sensical robo-pipe.

Yeah these are my feelings too, I've honestly never gotten the ZTD hate but then again I don't really hang onto things I don't enjoy. AI is tied with VLR for my favorite work of his and I am super excited for nirvana!

Out of curiosity, I looked up Japan Spike Chunsoft Twitter and the announcement of AI sequel only got...78 retweets compared to 4.4k retweets on Western Spike Chunsoft Twitter. It's a consistent curse for Uchi lol.

I wonder if Uchi is actually insane enough to somehow tie this into Zero Escape, or if he's just being cute. Aiba talking to the camera at the end is very Blick Winkel / ?.

I'm really curious, between "9" eyes and Mizuki clearly playing 999 on the switch to start

For all those hoping for no sex jokes due to the protagonist being female - as far as I remember Boss for example was no better than Date in that regard, she just got less screen time.

Anyway, Day 1 for me.

I loved the story and some of the characters, but I hope they improve two things: the jokes -because most of them were bad-, and the puzzle segments need to be more consistent -because even if they're inside dreams, all of them need to make sense to the player. Not only some of them-.

Zero Escape had them pretty sparingly. AI didn't just "have sex jokes," literally every one of its action sequences involved porno magazines. The game was like 50% sex joke. I love the game, but good lord was that aspect of it constantly in your face and difficult to put up with. I don't think anyone is actually holding out hope for none, just for it to be reasonable.

I definitely agree, some of them were funny but there was far too many and felt very forced in AI. I think Uchi definitely reads the criticism and hopefully he will be reasonable with the sex jokes.

Yah, I actually didn't even mind most of them, they were mostly inoffensive, there were just way too many of them.
As to the use of the porn mag (that we never saw, we just knew it was one) and similar props in several action scenes, it was just plain dumb regardless of the props used. It could have been a bob sponge statue having the same effect and it would have been just as dumb... -:)

Still a game I really enjoyed.

I cant believe the fandom willed Detective Mizuki into existence. I'm SO freaking pumped!

I read an idea of what if this takes place after the Mizuki route instead of the true route, which would have super interesting implications

Switch version's got tons of aliasing.

Also runs into performance issues with some areas in the game.

Yah, I only played Switch and some areas were pretty terrible. I got PS4 digital on sale last year so I'll do a replay close to sequel release date. Probably go for Plat as well.

Overall I am excited about this. Hoping there is less creepy pervert stuff in this though.

A lot of the pervy stuff was mainly from Date's POV so Mizuki being the protag will def alleviate that. Personally, I didn't mind it cuz it was so over the top and Date got scolded and beat up over it so much which made it funny.

I thought the extreme horniness from date was a by product of (Spoilers for Ai) the personality shifting stuff regarding his character, but it's been a minute, so I may be misremembering. Regardless, I'd assume the general amount of horny jokes would go down just from (presumably)not having him as the protagonist anymore.

On a scale from Zero Escape 3 to 9,9,9…how good is this game?

Better than 999, not as good as VLR. All far better than ZTD.

Mizuki was frequenting maid cafes and had friends like Ota. The horniness ain't gonna get toned down just because she's the MC (especially since they're doing a time skip).

The Nonary Games + ZTD + AI Somnium files bundle on steam has been called the "Team Zero Escape" collection since the bundle launched (whenever that was), so the branding isn't specifically new here.
I see but I tried to look into it more and it seems that they have not mentioned them outside of that steam bundle. I kind of want to know more, is it a dedicated team to work with uchikoshi or are they their own thing.

Well, they explained that she went there cuz she was lonely and needed companionship. Not to mention she was friends with the maids. If any pervy shit pops up, it won't be from her, I think. Maybe she'll meet more pervy NPCs and beat them up.

I must be the only person who liked the sex jokes. They were over the top but also self aware. Seems like there were a lot of no fun allowed reactions to them.

I enjoyed them. Laughed and cringed all at the same time. They were very old school 80's style raunchy humor mixed with dad jokes galore. Def not for everyone.

If that was the case I'm not sure why she's at the warehouse in this teaser, though. I don't think she ever went there in the Mizuki route? Or even if she did I doubt it would hold any special significance to her that it would get her to hum Iris's song.
