The game is probably going to be dead anyways, so I rather them taking the time needed for patches and attempt to deliver something serviceable. The scoreboard shouldn't even be a priority but I digress.

It was known since they delayed season 1. Not that i care anymore. This franchise is dead to me as well as every other future DICE title

Welp, that's that then. Shit sucks, but I think the community will handle the news with grace and acceptance and not drag it out for a month.

I think this game is second to Cyberpunk 2077 for biggest AAA launch fail. Catalogue of errors in every area.

By the time they fix everything, there might not be any players left to care.

They really should have delayed it the year and cancelled last gen versions. Would have given them more time and less platforms to worry about. Player count seems low enough for PC and current gen consoles. Last gen numbers are probably depressingly low.

Honestly? I keep forgetting this game exists. I preordered it, and have booted it up maybe 3 times since launch. I really really hope it can get to a better state.

EA used covid as an excuse to abandon BFV in the middle of WW2, the lack of sales=disaster, I am going to be shocked if EA doesn't abandon this game after season 1..

I think Battlefield 2042 is fun but no where near as good as the previous games. It's a shame the game came out in the state it released. By the time these updates roll out, nobody will still be playing it. Maybe they can release it on gamepass/Spartacus in April?

I think this is worse.

Nah, at least this game is playable and most critical glitches were fixed before the christmas break. There's a lot of hyperbole surrounding the game's issues. It's nowhere near the absolute clusterfuck Cyberpunk was. It's not that far either just... nah

Console Cyberpunk - probably, simply because the technical state on base consoles was below acceptable/playable.

PC Cyberpunk - no way. Overhyped, buggy, missing quite a few promised features, flawed in many ways, but still delivering some of the best visuals, worldbuilding, acting, soundtrack and story you can ask of the video game. As long as you played it as a linear-campaign (not open world), all components worked to form a cohesive game, at the very least.

Doesn't really matter what the numbers are now, I imagine most are waiting (myself included) for the soft relaunch of the game in the summer

Even that's probably not enough time to make enough changes but we'll see

I wouldn't be able to get a refund for this on steam with decent hours played would I? Played through the pain first couple weeks as friends insisted but haven't touched since. What a disappointment. What a waste of money haha.

It shouldn't be. It should have been there day one.
It's becoming more ridiculous by the day.

Weird, on PC if you press tab you can see a scoreboard. You can't see individual kills or deaths but I still don't see how's that an actual issue that impacts the game in any way. Scoreboard already provides tons of information.

It shouldn't be a priority to fix something that isn't broken when the rest of the game has way more important issues.

I get this game is a disappointment but do we need to beat this game and the developers and the rest of their team into the dirt farther and farther?

The writing is on the wall. With MW2 launching in the Fall and Warzone 2 in March, no one will be playing this in a year's time.

Did they charge $60 for this game? Did they charge $100 for this game?

Did they accept people's money for this product?

Yes or no?

I'm sorry, but once you sell your item for money, you 100% are allowed criticism.

Only single digits % of launch players are playing it now, and it was expected to have patches and S1 on March.

From 100k to not even breaking 5k on Steam.

I'm sorry, but once you sell your item for money, you 100% are allowed criticism.

I don't think that is the point.

He is bored of hearing what a collosal failure and scam this project was... And this is it pointless to discuss anything further, I think BF42 fucks off to the void until summer. We will probably confirm death with S1, but you never know. There will definitely be at least one last ride :)

Not saying they don't deserve criticism but an update like this is only really relevant in the Battlefield thread. Most likely, the majority of the replies are going to be from people who haven't even played the game. We get it - people don't like the game. Does this really change the narrative?

Broken in a technical sense? No. Broken from an fps expectation point of view? Absolutely in my opinion.

But I'll concede that there are way more serious problems that need to be fixed. Not like that's happening anytime soon either, if ever.

At this point I expect EA to cut map support by the end of the year. We'll still get the 4 battle passes and specialists cause people already paid for that but IIRC the year 1 pass didn't promise a certain number of maps.

I have a feeling they'll go back to the drawing board for a BF2142 for a 'classic' return. At least in my dreams anyways.

No, you see a 'squadboard', and you know exactly what they mean.

They won't. They will chase trends until they land big or get closed down.
EA wants a COD competitor and not something simply "successful".

It feels like all these big publishers aren't satisfied with only "successful" games anymore. They want record-breaking megahits that they can milk for decades or it's worth nothing to them.
