Even as far as nothing trailers go, that was a true waste of time. I don't think that even counts as a trailer. It's a bunch of studio pre-rolls leading up to the video thumbnail lol

Why are they going with a green and white colour scheme for the cover!? They don't use that colour scheme for Dynamite or Rampage.

Very interesting they used the old THQ logo you seen on the old N64 THQ rasslin' games. They really are banking on that AEW Fight Forever will be a spiritual continuation of those games. Hope it doesn't backfire on them.

This is clearly a mini-game but looks like they planned or are planning on Stadium Stampede since they built the assets.

Confirms Cody and MJF in the game, too.
I still think MJF is a work. Cody is something Kenny really pushed for. His contributions to AEW and his legacy won't be forgotten because he didn't renew his contract.

The quality of the assets look high but I'm a bit worried about what the look of the crowds and arenas will be like, based of these screenshots. Unless it's a complete disaster I'll probably buy the game cause I haven't played a wrestling game in years and I'll get to repeatedly smash Jericho's nut job face in.

Committing the cardinal sin of showing absolutely nothing, tempered by the fact that they announced they would show something on August 12th.

That baseball screenshot is interesting. I had hoped there would be some Kenny Omega-inspired wackiness to this game and it's suggesting there will be.

everything I've heard about the behind the scenes of this game does not sound promising but hopefully it'll be fun. Overdue a fun wrasslin game Other than fire pro.

press release says custom entrances, wonder if they're like how 2K used to do them before 2K22 removed the option (CAWs now only use predefined ones)

COVID issues or problems with the engine?

Behind the scenes tension between the AEW side and Yuke's…more like the two sides butting heads at times. This game was a biiiiig money sink for Tony Khan and AEW. Even if the game engine and gameplay are a home run, there was a tumultuous development behind the scenes thing where I'm sure will end up in a Matt McMuscles "Wha Happun" in the future.

Yeah, reportedly Kenny hasn't been happy with Yukes, so it'll be interesting to see if they develop the next game. Obviously they won't if they game flops.

Might be an unpopular take, but if this game flops, I would be shocked if there even is another one. AEW's other games were a reskin of a literal slot machine, and an incredibly low quality "GM Mode" mobile game. And considering how much money has been sunk into this console game, if it doesn't do extremely well, it's hard to imagine Tony or THQ wanting to foot the bill for another entry.

Graphics look like a cheap mobile game from what I've seen on twitter. Fan made cover art, Kenny Omega being pissed off at them and he's supposed to be the mastermind behind this.

This game will be interesting indeed

Looking forward to this and gonna stay mum on the cover art because I won't care about it in the end anyway. LOL People who are waiting for this game will buy this game. I'm one of them. Just want a fun pick-up-and-play experience that allows me to V-trigger people in a satisfying way. :p

Interesting that the game might be limited to four wrestlers in the ring at once based on the match types. I am not sure how that would work with the casino battle royale though. Also, no cage match is disappointing.

No custom championships.

Probably the same way it worked in No Mercy. Four people get in the ring and another person doesn't enter until there's space.

So is there any real credible rumors about this whole 'Kenny Omega has issues with Yuke's and there is tension' or whatever outside the wrestling rumor media that is typically spotty at best? Because I don't really understand why Kenny Omega would have anything to do with this game at all unless he's has some kind of game development experience.

I know AEW is allegedly a very loosely run company, and I can believe that considering some of the stuff they produce, but is Tony Khan really going to sink millions of dollars of his own company's money into something and have it looked over by someone who is just a random video game fan.

Even with WWE games, you heard stories of Vince vetoing things, the most infamous being customizing established stars, but never heard of him sending like Seth Rollins down to Yukes to make sure they were developing the game right. I just find that all really hard to believe.

THQ Nordic Gives AEW: Fight Forever The Push Fans Have Been Waiting For!

Vienna/Austria, Jacksonville/Florida, Tokyo/Japan August 3, 2022: THQ Nordic GmbH and All Elite Wrestling, LLC (AEW) and YUKE'S Co., Ltd. today confirmed that the release of AEW: Fight Forever will be the tag-team event of the century! The two companies have joined forces to bring developer YUKES' latest creation to PC, PS4™, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo® Switch.

"One of the first things I did after signing with AEW was to ask Tony Khan to let me help assemble the best gaming team on the planet, to make the best wrestling game ever," said Kenny Omega, EVP of AEW and former AEW World Champion and AEW World Tag Team Champion. "Well, we just landed the perfect finisher by partnering with global publishing and distribution powerhouse THQ Nordic for AEW: Fight Forever. The THQ brand has long been synonymous with wrestling games – there is simply no more qualified partner to bring AEW: Fight Forever to the millions of wrestling fans the world over."

YUKE'S president and CEO Yukinori Taniguchi said "I am both gratified and excited to have the opportunity to work with AEW - who is breathing new life into the pro wrestling industry - and the THQ Brand, with whom we have created an entire era of pro wrestling games. Using the expertise we have cultivated over the years, we are taking on this project with the ultimate staff from the YUKE'S Development Team in order to recreate AEW's appeal within a video game to the highest degree. We hope that fans will enjoy experiencing the most cutting-edge technology, and the next evolution, in pro wrestling gaming."

"Kenny's incredible vision for AEW: Fight Forever is informed by his wrestling pedigree both inside the ring and on the controller," said Executive Producer Reinhard Pollice, THQ Nordic. "Combine that vision with YUKES' unparalleled wrestling game development history is resulting in an AEW experience that draws heavily on the arcade feel that first won wrestling gamer hearts more than two decades ago."

A touch of nostalgia is just the beginning in AEW: Fight Forever. Players can look forward to pulling off the most current wrestling moves seen on wildly popular AEW programming. This, in addition to innovative tandem offensive moves. Online co-op wrestling is going completely next level with Tag Team matches that feature sequences of team maneuvers performed with simple commands. A long roster of the most popular AEW wrestlers, deep career mode, create-a-wrestler, signature AEW arenas, multiple match types and even some good ol' fashioned, unsanctioned fun await!

But they've listed a match type that has more than four wrestlers in the ring at once. What other match types would they lost that has more than four? I don't think you need to worry

Read the press release above. Even if you don't believe that Kenny has anything to do with the game, which is false because he seems to be the guy communicating with Yuke's, he is at the very least, the face/PR of AEW games.

Kenny is a massive AKI engine mark and video game nerd in general, which is why he is involved in this. But I'd also like some sources on the supposed issues he has with Yukes.
