For me, Page's title run has been very flat.

Out of curiosity, which world champion in your opinion had better title defenses? Page isn't my favorite but I can't deny his matches have all delivered.
I don't think I've ever seen a crowd go from asleep to loud as fuck during a PPV before. It's been pretty amazing to witness.
Its not about the matches.. its everything else around it.
He has never felt like the focus of the show, nor has he seemed to have stepped up to that level.

Hangman is seemingly playing heel in this match, which makes Punk turning heel at the end seem like it would be a weird choice.

no one is shitting on it, people are just divided and rooting for either one of them. that's exactly why it's good.
The people cheering Punk booed the lariat setup, the people cheering Page booed the stopping of it. I don't see the issue. They aren't booing the match, they're booing the opponent against their guy.
