It's not a glamorous industry. People in that situation often have to suffer. While I can't name any documentaries, Netflix usually have a couple of insightful documentaries about how nasty the industry can be.

There are efforts for sex workers to unionise, but they tackle the usual difficulties of unionising PLUS the stigma of being sex workers PLUS a lot of their work being illegal. It's real tough.
