Does anybody know what the 'clear ad removal' thing is at the bottom of all the screens ?

I just went on 'about resetera' at the bottom and it talks about advertising.

Really hope they aren't monisting users.

Probably, just use an adblocker if you're worried about malicious ads.

Hmm think ads have been on the site for a while but I've only just noticed my ad blocker doing something differently with the new website.

We've always had ERA Clear as an option for people who want to browse ResetEra ad-free without using an ad blocker. With the 2.0 update, we temporarily turned ads off, but those will be coming back once we've ironed things out more.
