Are you really this fragile that somebody criticising something you like has you disparaging their brain and mental health? This is how you're starting your new year? Take a breath man.saying something nice about someone is not critiscim, just as offending someone is not criticising them. the difference is being nice is, well, nice. the things online discussions do to some people's brains...
I'm fine, didn't realise calling someone "an obnoxious tool" was critiscim. Guess I missed that Ebert review. Are you really this fragile that somebody criticising something you like has you disparaging their brain and mental health? This is how you're starting your new year? Take a breath man.
The irony of you literally not being able to spell the word criticism is delightful.I'm fine, didn't realise calling someone "an obnoxious tool" was critiscim. Guess I missed that Ebert review.
hope youre able to write full sentences in portuguese without making any grammatical errors too, since english is not my native language. The irony of you literally not being able to spell the word criticism is delightful.

Insinuating someone is mentally ill without any cause or evidence other than "I think your opinion is wrong and bad" is pretty poor form in itself, my dude.I'm fine, didn't realise calling someone "an obnoxious tool" was critiscim. Guess I missed that Ebert review.
do you think it's normal behaviour for someone to reply to a post that were not even quoting them writing full essays about how justifiable they are in coming into a thread just to offend the author of a video they didn't like? besides, I didn't disparaged his mental health, I said I hope he would be able to get better and look back at how silly he was being. I'm done with this.Insinuating someone is mentally ill without any cause or evidence other than "I think your opinion is wrong and bad" is pretty poor form in itself, my dude.

It's not that good. But it's relatively important and interesting if you're not familiar with the genre.I don't need to play this, but I'd be interested in doing so if I could. I doubt I'd love it as much as Tim, but he has a way of building something up so thoughtfully that I find it hard to not get sucked into the hype.
You're an asshole. I can be worthless on the internet too!
That does look to be in shockingly poor taste now I realise English isn't their native language I agree.Imagine insulting a person's English on a forum with a huge international userbase.
The first playthroughs can be a bit rough, but once you understand the game mechanics, it's really not that bad.Tokimeki Memorial is soul crushing, the game seems harder than real life.
I hope that some day a group spins up an effort to make these more accessible (I have heard that the original's code is a nightmare which has put people off the project) because they truly are foundational.
Fair enough. Don't think I'd have enough patience to get Shiori legit. The first playthroughs can be a bit rough, but once you understand the game mechanics, it's really not that bad.
... Okay, except for Shiori. She's the Highschooler Must Die difficulty setting.
She's probably the least interesting character anyway. I guess that makes for an even greater challenge, in a way, but...
Two weeks.Tim, on Discord, mentioned that it would take him 2 weeks to translate the text
Ya.. put that shit on eshop stat Konami (who am I kidding)I've never really been able to get into Tim Rogers stuff - no shade on him, it just hasn't ever clicked for me - but I'm incredibly glad he's done the work to introduce Tokimemo and associated titles to a broader audience. A few months ago I wrote a post about Nakayama Miho no Tokimeki High School in a thread on obscure games, and was pleased to see that shouted out here as well as a clear forerunner. It's an absolute shame that none of these titles have ever been localized or, aside from some of the Girls Side spin-offs, even gotten fan translations. I hope that some day a group spins up an effort to make these more accessible (I have heard that the original's code is a nightmare which has put people off the project) because they truly are foundational.
Then he should know better. You do know he has worked as a translator / game localizer, right?
I don't mind long videos at all. But I really dislike Tim Rogers.
seems impossible to find a place on the internet to talk about tim's content without having people extremely angry about the guy because... uhm.... he likes flowery language, I guess?
I translate Japanese > English / Spanish for a living and a 300 page-ish project takes us months (in big part because there are constant revisions to the original material though). You do know he has worked as a translator / game localizer, right?

I'm clueless about these games so I don't know just how much test they have, though. And as it's been mentioned, if it's mostly simple Japanese then maybe that'd speed things up.
This type of hate fuels people, you could say it allows their life to have meaning.
If you like this sort of game check it out!For the TokiMemo fans out there, how's the Girl's Side fantranslation? I'm thinking of giving it a try

Yeah, the lack of a fan translation for Tokimeki Memorial after all these years continues to confuse me. It's really too bad. It's baffling to me that with all the games new and old that have gotten official and unofficial translations over the years, sometimes games so obscure you wonder who exactly the audience are that those translations are for, that one of the most seminal and important games in Japanese gaming history still hasn't been translated in any way, shape or form. I swear it's been on my "will play when it gets translated" bucket for at least two decades now.
I mean heck, Princess Maker 2 got an official (if technically unreleased) translation! Princess Maker 2!!! but Tokimeki Memorial still sits in complete obscurity outside of Japan?
The technical side is apparently far too complex for a fan translation project.I can translate the game if someone wants to work on the technical side

I'm only two hours into the video, but I'm digging it so far and as for talking about Tim Rogers' videos, his Discord is probably the best place to do that
