🤔
I really want some interviewer to ask them if they knew this was how Hitler came to power - by delegitimizing the press."Fake news" was such a powerful tool and so detrimental to this country. "Anything I don't want to believe is fake and I need absolutely no proof" there is no reasoning here. Of course it has always existed in some form but never as blatantly as it does now.
The news likes that down-home, folksy, "Real American" bullshit.Trump wins: Let's go talk to Trump supporters about that.
Trump loses: Let's go talk to Trump supporters about that.
"I just lost my cousin to Covid, but I dont believe all the pre-cautions are worth it."
Yep, those are Trump voters.
Trump wins: Let's go talk to Trump supporters about that.
Trump loses: Let's go talk to Trump supporters about that.
That's everyone else
How about stop asking dumb questions and go back to reaching across the aisle to people who are opposed to your very existence, like the rest of us very civil people?Did these idiots ever interview BLM leaders or they only like to coddle up to white racists?
The answer to your question is no.I'm trying to remember, did they do this for Hillary voters back in 2016?
just wait until after january when their ratings start to drop because there isn't a scandal every second in the WH. it's not going to stop
Trying to squeeze a redemption arc out of racist whites and their tap-dancing friends is more important than leaving them behind, because it staves off the uncomfortable reality that these people are consciously irredeemable, and otherwise empathetic white people who voted for Biden cannot handle the consequences of just how legitimately horrible their own family and acquaintances are. As a result, there is a legit emotional demand for these repetitive-ass stories, hence why news media keeps airing and publishing them. It's also why you will never see similar op-eds regarding minorities and white liberals/leftists who voted for Biden. While there is a long-term need for a media landscape that reflects the reality that we are the majority, there isn't the same emotional crisis with us. There's no redemption arc to be had, no sliver of hope that we can be pulled from the edge of depravity, and thus no story. (Also, no one really, truly cares about black and brown people regardless, but that goes without saying. Herpaderp.)

This is why I stopped giving money to NPR - they keep legitimizing nonsense by giving people a reputable(ish) platform to spew their garbage and the only pushback they give is some meek protest that the interviewee plows right through.
