I would not be surprised if it turned out that those friends had publicly turned against her and/or that she'd been trying to blackmail them into supporting her (with the threat being that otherwise she'd....do exactly what she's done).

Don't think of it as one video, think of it as a lifetime of being racist and it finally caught up. Nobody makes something that awful by accident.
As much as I want to believe all the "their lives are ruined" rhetoric, they are white after all. It's only going to take one sympathetic white employer for them to fail upward.
I'm from Georgia. This is a good reminder that folks are still out here teaching their children to act and think like this - America has never experienced a state of post-racism.

Thing is its not "hidden", they're still being racist they just aren't dropping slurs. A "hidden" racist who happens to be a police officer that deals with the minority community is a serious issue even if he isn't dropping slurs in public. Its not a switch that you just turn on or off.
i don't agree, but this is case in point for why it's difficult in America for some to trust white people. they can do racist shit, harbor racist thoughts, and as long as its in private, it's supposed to be all good. Meanwhile, people can secretly think minorities just rape and steal and kill, and of course that's not a private issue or matter. There's no such thing as a "hidden racist" that also doesn't act in accordance with their racism. It can be real subtle, but they don't somehow have these perfect masks that lets them be cordial and treat the targets of their bigotry as they would people of their own background.
You're assuming that you could identify any case of outward racism. It definitely doesn't work like that. Like, for the example you responded to, you wouldn't necessarily know that you didn't get the job because of your ethnicity. In most cases, there is no way of really knowing for sure. But the possibility is always there, looming in the background. That's the issue.
