Basically influencers get paid to promote crap cryptocurrency on young people, by claiming they will make money, and when they inevitably tank, just delete the tweet where they promoted the Cryptocurrency.

This is trending on twitter: FaZe Clan just banned and suspended some players for these crypto schemes.

I feel like crypto is being tainted by selfish individuals looking to make a quick buck. The rapid rise of shady altcoins has made it difficult for novel investors to identify the right coins with long-term potential

"Tainted" implies crypto isn't already an incredibly shifty, high-risk investment vehicle for suckers.

The only reason crypto is even a thing is the appeal of making a quick buck.

If you want long-term potential put your money in an S&P 500 index fund. 7% average yearly return over the last century and you don't have to worry about hackers stealing all your money. Or the shady off-shore exchange stealing all your money. Because it's a highly regulated market for adults.

Crypto is fucking stupid y'all.

Implying the energy cost alone doesn't already taint it?

Well it certainly has laid the shit bare. Really reminds me of the pyramid schemes that would pop up before my time.
