Worth the watch here and transcript

I think there was-- universally accepted that what happened was a terrible, terrible violation of what-- of the Capitol, of the first branch of government, the legislative branch, by the president of the United States," Pelosi said.

The mob was free to roam the halls of Congress, one group making it right up to Speaker Pelosi's suite of offices. They smashed in one of the office doors before they went through to another door – behind which Pelosi's staff cowered, terrorized.

"The staff went under the table, barricaded the door, turned out the lights, and were silent in the dark," Pelosi said. "Under the table for two and a half hours."

The evidence is now that-- that it was a well-planned, organized group with leadership and guidance and direction. And the direction was to go get people," Pelosi said. "They were vocally saying, 'Where's the speaker? We know she has staff. They're here someplace. We're going to find them.'"

More at the link. The sound of them banging on the doors. Is some nightmarish shit.

terrorists. plain and simple.

i still think we're failing to grasp the enormity of the reality of this situation.

unfortunately, i'd imagine a lot of those people affected by this from the congresspeople/staffers/journalists/capitol police will have ptsd and other associated issues for quite a while.

We honestly barely averted a mass casualty event in congress.

So can we now stop with the "it's conspiracy to say it was planned and working from within"
The person third in line for the presidency just said it was planned. Cause a mod literally said otherwise in the main thread.

It absolutely haunts me knowing that she was within minutes of being potentially executed or taken hostage. So many of our highest level officials were a missed doorway away from death. Horrifying.

Yup. Seeming how those folks overran the barrier it's really was quick enough thinking.

There is no doubt in my mind that the mob would have murdered her and many others that day given the chance.

I just can't even imagine what would have happened if they got ahold of anyone. Cause as said, they were definitely going to murder people. Fucking insanity.

+ Mike Pence. They were literally chanting "Hang Mike Pence"
GJIURIHPXVAMTLHOLZLZW5UKRA.png

Which brings me to my next point. How far down the rabbit hole does the plot to kill Mike Pence go? Trump was pushing this shit really fucking hard, basically leaving a gunpowder trail to Mike Pence and igniting it Wednesday morning as he sicced his angry dogs on the capital. Were Trump's words regarding Pence enough to drive the outcry to kill Pence? Were there other bad actors mixed in spreading the message on command? Who was the Grima Wormtongue at the White House who suggested that Pence could overthrow the entire process?

Trump tweeted this right as the capital was being stormed, I believe I read this was 10 minutes after Pence was escorted from the room during the EC Confirmation.

Also, I want to say that if Trump is tweeting something that is 2 parts, it's usually a gap of several minutes between each tweet? It makes me wonder if he hadn't been notified that the VP was being escorted to safety as he sent this out.

That Paul Gosar guy from Arizona helped orchestrate the capitol building invasion, as did Mo Brooks. Both should be held without bail as enemies of the state.

Gosar I believe is the guy whose family hates him and put out ads against him when he ran. Now three of his siblings are working to get him expelled from Congress.

The siblings say their brother’s extremist views on immigration and his comments about a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., prompted them to take action.

I'm cutting off anyone in my life that's still making excuses for Trump. At this point, they are literally existing Domestic Terrorists.

I pray this is the last time we experience such terror. To incite such riot ....
It won't be because the are people downplaying it to the point of where I'd dare say at least 40-50% of the nation believes it was a peaceful protest in the capitol.

to clarify, my opinion isn't that. I think it's the single worst day in US history since 9/11. It's a nightmare and everyone involved is a terrorist and should be in prison.

Other people are already on it. That's why I know a bout it. They were discussing it on Twitter (Yasher Ali).

Edit: Also:

Some of Rep. Gosar's siblings want him expelled from Congress after deadly riot at Capitol

Three of Rep. Paul Gosar's siblings have reached out to Rep. Raúl Grijalva asking him to help get their brother expelled from Congress after the deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol they blame him for helping to instigate.

Weird questions to ask at the end saying Pelosi is a compromiser. Like Pelosi and the rest have had that care act since last May so it's all on the GOP the whole time. Don't see how that relates to the current attack on the Capitol and democracy.

She looks visibly shook. The security in the Capitol wasn't good enough that day. If the terrorist mob had have been bigger, we could've seen more casualties and possibly politicians taken hostage.
