Hanging out with 14 friends to watch the finale was one of the most wholesome moments in my life, specially know where is almost impossible to gather even a quarter of that amount of people

People who hate Super dont love Dragon Ball, they love Dragon Ball Z

Tournament Of Power is by far the best thing Super has done, which is kind of an indictment of Super.

I enjoyed the final episode but overall I didn't think it was anything too special. At least they got Takahashi to work on some of the scenes.

LOVED it.

Now hurry up and announce more. Crazy that three years have gone by without a continuation.

Lol this is absolute nonsense considering how often Super apes DBZ's most iconic moments, desperately wanting to make the audience go "remember that?" It offers a half hearted attempt to channel the original Dragon Ball's humor while missing the mark on invoking its characterization and heart.

I genuinely cannot believe that at the height of its popularity and with a movie on the way they decided to put this show in a limbo state...for over 3 years...

baffling fucking decision. They must not enjoy...money? Lol

The ToP was basically the Anniversary season where everyone gets together and celebrates the show. At its peak it was just pure love.

That's nonsense. I love both DB and Z, pretty much equally but Super was just trash through and through.

Oh god, it's really been 3 years, hasn't it. I still remember looking forward to the sequel show... Haven't been in the Super OT in ages either.

It had many issues that I could argue are bad writing, but I can't pretend I didn't just get hyped like a little kid and going "GO GOKUUUU" haha. Dragonball gets me going like no other series does and I have no idea why.

One of the hypest moments of Anime history. Goku half transforming throughout and then finally mustering the energy to go SSJ one last time to help deliver the final push was *chefs kiss*

What made it so special and hype was just the history behind it.

It's not like Frieza was just some villian introduced to us in Super that teamed up with Goku, this is a dude with literal decades of presence who hated Goku with every fiber of his being and was apart of one of, if not the best and most iconic arcs the series has ever done.

It's great because of the context of the entire series. Finally a fight doesn't end in pride or Goku/Gohan brute forcing it. Instead, Goku & Freeza have to drop their pride & work together so that 17 can win by default due to his stamina. It's a great end to an arc that basically begin with "Goku's battle lust is gonna kill us all"

Having watched Dragon Ball and Z for the first time between 2017 and 2019, I gotta be real, "hot take" or not:

DB = DBS > DBZ

I still like DBZ a fair bit, but between the Buu arc not exactly wowing me and the overall decrease in focused character work/fun interplay, it was a bit disappointing to me relative to the original. I feel like DBS amped up the excellent relationships between the characters; DBS Vegeta in particular is just phenomenal.

If that came at the cost of noteworthily mixed art quality and a downward tick in grit and originality, no big worries to me. And if folks aren't generally as impressed with the fights as with DBZ, again, I don't especially mind.

I'm mostly here for the characters. Roshi aside (I'm sure the broader net will label this comment "peak Era," but the old man who uh literally tries to molest young women trope sucks and shouldn't be there?), I like damn near everyone.

And I still can't get over how cool it is that Pilaf and his adorable oafs not only returned; Mai herself became a major character for a while. Genius.

That night was great. I had a get together with some friends to watch the finale. It was hype.

I really thought we'd have the show back by now. :(

Yeah, it was rad.

DBS could be a bit of a slog at times, but looking back at it I think I enjoyed the entirety of it. Here's hoping to it's return in the near future.

If you had told me before the last arc of Super that Android 17 would become one of my favorite DB characters of all time i wouldn't have believed you. I'm also glad they didn't do the lazy "freeza actually betrays everyone" approach, even if they hinted at it heavily.

Still not a fan of him becoming a regular cast member, but his character in this arc was the best it had ever been at least.

I guess the ending stuff was some of the best of Super, but I was just so over the show at this point. That ending tournament arc was way, way too long so I was a bit deflated.

One of the better moments in a series with a really uneven nature. Was fun to watch people freaking out over it.

What a coincidence that I was just watching this video talking about the music in that episode.

Nothing I didn't already knew, but great stuff anyway

Is there anything that could match this teamup? Maybe a Gohan + Revived Perfect Cell?

3 years ago...damn I thought they would at least release new movies once a year to milk the hype but we got nothing...

There was a lot of issues with TOP as a whole, but they absolutely nailed the finale.

It's been far too long though, and Toei needs to get a new animated series started again with a decent production time this time around.

In general, I dislike much of the Super anime (LOVE the manga), but this scene was so fucking hype. Gives me chills every time I watch it. Never would have thought bringing back Frieza AGAIN would be a great idea, but here we are.

Watching those vids of live crowds watching the show, I was not expecting such a huge pop from the crowd when the fighters materialize in the stands. They were all in!
