2021 What are your hope's, expectations and dreams?

Hi All as we are close to 2021 and NEXT Gen has arrived.

I thought I would start up this thread, if it's against rules by all means close the thread:

Hopes:

FFXVI News and a Release Date
XVI Expansion is in September
Perfect Dark is a 2022 game

Expectations:
VIIRemake Part gets a Next Gen Upgrade with extra content - existing owners pay a $10 upgrade for it.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 gets cancelled or a release date
PS5 will not be widely available until summer 2021.

Dreams:
Next Nier Game is teased
Elden Ring Released in 2021- development is now on PS5/XSX/PC.
BOTW2 Released 2021 in April.

Metroid Prime Trilogy
Metroid Switch Info
Elden Ring info
Zelda releases in 2021
PS5 has a fantastic year with games. Adds VRR support via firmware
Cyberpunk finally gets good on next gen consoles.

Dreams:
F-Zero anything
Switch Pro is real and awesome. Many games scale amazingly with DLSS and run at better framerates.

Expectations:
After the year that is 2020 I have no expectations, just hopes and dreams. :'(

No hopes and dreams, just the expectation that most things will continued to be delayed due to the fact that lost productivity is still lost productivity regardless of when your project was intended to ship. That transition to work from home that started in March really wrecked havoc for all kinds of work so I expect most studios to still be behind where they wanted to be and have adjusted their targets, where possible.

I honestly can't get over these $10 next gen upgrade path. So many other developers are offering it out of the box, just seems like shitty practice now.

BotW2 being the main focus at E3 (if it happens), releasing in November, and getting full dungeons.

MPT FINALLY hitting Switch.

Zelda HD All-Stars hitting this year or at least individual releases of most past Zelda games.

Anything related with Elden Ring, just an "Oooooh" on a tweet should be enough

Hopes:
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is teased and furthers the connection between 1 and 2

Dreams:
Xenogears is getting an HD port with QOL improvements ala FF7-9 on Switch (with a physical release for Asia the same way)

Xenoblade X gets its time in the sun with a Switch remaster

Expectations:
There will still not be another Xeno rep in Smash and we'll get another fucking Pokémon or Zelda character

Personally I expect a rather messy year, with lots and lots of delays, more buggy games before the fiscal years end.

On the other hand I expect publishers to release more smaller games in the future as a consequence of the rise of subscription services.

Release hopes:
Elden Ring, Diablo 4 (lol), Elex 2 (pretty sure this is happening soon)

And please, videogame god, make Bloodlines 2 good

2021 Hopes/dreams:

- We hear about new projects from Giant Sparrow, Simogo and EXOK.
- Sega announce a Dreamcast mini console.
- Zelda BoTW 2 gets released.
- Warioware gets announced (and released).
- Confirmation of the rumoured Metroid projects (MPT and M5) alongside a re-reveal of MP4.
- Reveal (and maybe a release) of Donkey Kong developed by the Mario Odyssey team.
- More powerful Switch hardware is announced/released.
- Forever Entertainment get the Panzer Dragoon Zwei remake released and incorporate all of the feedback and lessons learned from the release of the first game.

Seems Nintendo has most of my attention this year.

More storage (USB cold storage and an approved list of compatible SSDs) for the PS5 is my number one right now. I'm already out of room on that thing.

Expectations: Total Warhammer 3 announced, awesome Crusader Kings 3 DLC (hopefully about republics and the Byzantine empire)

dreams: Homeworld 3 footage!!

On a personal gaming note I hope to get into indie game dev 2021 I wanna make a little split screen Quakelike for when I can get friends together after the pandemic. Something that can utilize my dual monitor set up! Don't know enough about game dev to start work on my dream Roleplaying Strategy game but a small MP game with store assets for my friends would be fun.
