We fucking need a stage of Biden, Warren, Bernie, Pete, Beto, Harris, and Booker. There needs to be a gigantic gang up and spotlight on Biden to get this shit going.
At the moment that's all who have qualified for September, but Yang and Klobuchar are very likely to make it. Castro has a good chance and Steyer and Gabbard have an outside chance. Everyone else is having their last 2020 debate this week.

Warren: I will decriminalize illegal immigration

she just lost the 2020 election in that moment if she is the nominee

you can say it to primary voters but that's the moment you lost independents you need to win the election
I missed this part debate, hmm. It's a tough tough position to take, especially in the general.

Someone made a half-joke about listening to 10 white people debate race when that topic came up. And that made me realize that it is strange that every minority running ended up in the same debate this time.

I legit think Warren can beat Biden if Sanders drops out (& others) & endorses her, Sanders her VP pick, but right now the progressive wing is split while the moderate wing is all doubling down on Biden it seems, little disappointing.

Warren would lose to Trump. Badly.

Biden and Bernie have a much higher chance of winning

While that may be true for you this is red meat for the anti vaccine crowd who don't have those same intentions.
I understand your point,. I believe having sensible rules that looks after vulnerable people would be a nice balance. Ie, most people should be vaccinated for herd immunity but you shouldn't be demonized or forced into something when you have a medical or family history of it hurting you. unfortunately these days we don't seem to be able to work with critical thinking or common sense it is either you are a raving conspiracy theorist anti vaxxer or down with forcing people to be vaccinated no matter what. I don't think either of those positions are correct. you are free to have your opinion on this but maybe we should not keep going back and forth in this thread as its about the debates. I was trying to correct what I saw a misquote about a candidate. I'm not trying to hammer some agenda.
On the subject of the debate, I thought Bernie was a clear winner and Warren did a pretty solid job also.

that story about Bernie wanting Warren to run in 2016 is so widespread that it has to be true.
I definitely remember Bernie repeatedly saying he's only going to run if no one else willing to take on wall street is going to run, which sounded to me like he was trying to leave the door open for Warren before committing to running himself. It's not a typical type of answer to questions about if you're running.

Glad Warren did an excellent job for the most part, although her stance on decriminalizing illegal immigration is gonna be tough to convince voters with different opinions

Biden sure, but i think Bernie will scare certain older demographics with him being a socialist, too many people think USSR when they think that.
The difference is he can draw in young voters and minorities to offset it.

Warren would be probably worse than Hilary

sanders currently has the second-highest margin of victory over trump in general election polling

polls this far out are unreliable, sure, but he's got high name recognition and everybody knows he's a socialist (social democrat, whatever) - the phrase simply isn't the mind-killer that it used to be.

(also, older demographics are already reliable republican voters - there's an open question of just how much he'd even lose there)

I think if you can make the case for old people that you'll support their insurance, by providing eyeglass, hearing aid and dental care, that Bernie won't be automatically cancelled - whatever they may feel about a generic socialist. Although we have to be honest with ourselves that one party generally has an advantage with old people anyway and dems should be doing everything to get young voters to come out.

My California pediatrician informed me that if a new bill passes our exemption for a legitimate and serious medical reason would be potentially nullified and re submitted to a central consortium where it would be re assessed under parameters that are effectively impossible to meet without basically being completely vegetative state.

JUST CAUSE MARRIANE WILLIAMSON SAYS SOMETHING THAT MAKES SENSE, DOESNT MEAN SHE SHOULD BE PRESIDENT.
I don't think anybody is honestly saying she should be president.

However you can still make an impact without becoming the presidential candidate. Look at the influence Bernie made in the 2016 primaries. If she wins a bunch of wine moms over to her perspective of reparations, doesn't that make the world a better place?

I'll admit that I'm not fan of Warren by any means and honestly, this is not cool with me.

My wife is super left and she cringed at this nonsense.

Be reasonable. Don't be stupid about it. She'd lose on this alone.

Sounds like bullshit. Please reference proposed policy currently being considered by the state.

That wasn't a citation, it was an anecdote.

Can we acknowledge how ridiculous some of the questions were?

Warren: why don't you support preemptive nuclear strikes?
Pete: should we consider age when choosing a president?
Bernie: how are you different from Trump when you also oppose wars?

Like good God. People are paid 7 figure salaries to ask these questions.

Really curious if Sanders will get any sort of bump in the polls after this. This was definitely one of his best debate performances.

I really feel like Sanders' chance to win was in 2016, though. :(
