Three posts in a row! Lol.

Here are Thanksgiving night's ratings. It's mostly reruns but wow, did Fox's "The Masked Singer" take advantage of being new last night!:

Honestly... was pleasantly surprised by Saved by the Bell. Hopefully there's a second season - finished it in a day, easily digestible

The Goldbergs doing a "Do The Right Thing" episode was... strange. It's like they ran out of pop culture references to build episodes around and are totally reaching now. The fact that they did a racism episode just seems so disingenuous after all this time.

Meanwhile I'm still watching so I guess I'm part of the problem. lol

Is Fear The Walking Dead considered good? I'm almost done with the first season and my god everyone is stupid as shit and such a fucking asshole for no reason.

Everyone in the summer break was likely hustling to write at least one BLM or racism "Very Special Episode" for shows that rarely to never consider race in their storytelling, so they didn't appear tone-deaf. Goldbergs still managed to come across as tone-deaf anyways. Not sure I should be shocked. I'm white and even I'm exhausted by "white people don't understand even the basic fundamentals of racism and make stupid unnecessary gestures to white-saviour past it" storylines.

I dunno, that sounds pretty consistent with the franchise overall.

General reception seems to be it gets better eventually.

It also got a sort of soft retool a couple seasons in and from I've gleaned via osmosis is that the current run is among the best it has been.

They basically got the two non-white minor characters to show up to teach Adam about "racialisms"... and then he learns about the real world by watching movies about race and war, sort of like that scene from the Fifth Element. Except that's a 90s reference so it doesn't count. lol

I started the first episode a few months ago but was put off by Thomas Jane's ugly hat :(
I read about five of the books I think. I have managed to watch the entire first season and a couple episodes of season two and I....don't get the fuss. I'm a die hard sci-fi fan too. I'll eventually get around to finishing it but so far it's writing hasn't managed to vault it over it's low budget feel.

Someone tell me, does the writing get better or the budget expand considerably (I'll watch trash so long as it's pretty, I'll watch cardboard sets so long as they're written well) during season 2-3?

Did it though? Felt right at home to me. It was never high brow. Unfocused, bland cinematography (is it 2010?), Nicole being overwrought, characters introduced only to facilitate red herrings. I enjoyed it because I'm a sucker for thriller/mysteries but the show was never particularly well made.

I am, however, really liking Murder at Middle Beach. What an interesting show and fascinating family.

Friend got me into it, and when I found out what the name of the book it was based off was, I was like "I feel like they are pointing to something obvious here". It makes you think in so many ways, and in the end it was like "oh, ok" and just... unsatisfying.

It was bold in a way, I suppose, to spend six episodes positing a whole slew of interesting possibilities and then go with the most mundane one.

Agreed. A few tense moments in that last ep, but then credits roll and it's like "oh, that was it?" Overall, not a bad miniseries (still got some enjoyment out of it), and at least it ends there with no additional seasons to wait out.

Schitt's Creek (80 episodes, 963M)

Holidate (1 film, 654M)

Grey's Anatomy (361 episodes, 624)

Criminal Minds (277 episodes, 620M)

NCIS (353 episodes, 552M)

The Haunting of BlyManor (9 episodes, 535M)

Great British Baking Show (63 episodes, 530M)

Queen's Gambit saw incredible growth from last week, over 3 times as many minutes logged.

Mando also did extremely well considering it was only 1 new episode and only included its first 3 days.

The Office likely got a bump from news it's leaving Netflix at the end of the year.

Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds, NCIS seem to be sneaky licensed titles that continue to perform well for Netflix. I expect Mando to continue to be on the list for awhile. Queen's Gambit seems to have benefited a lot from word of mouth, so I could see it continuing to do well.

I like Ted Danson, not sure this will be for me though. I plan to check out a few episodes at least.

Could be good, it's got a lot of people I like in it.
And also with Trump leaving office I'll probably be more open to watching political/government shows again.

Looks like Ted Danson has the exact same wardrobe as The Good Place, haha.
