Makes sense they'd have Capcom do the collab.

Sentinel is one of their more popular fighting game characters.

Also oh no, it just hit me that I would give in & get model kits on each sentinel type if they did those.
I was thinking the same thing lol. I've never bought any model kits but I've been thinking recently I'd like to get one but I'm not that into any mecha properties. But I'm super passionate about this one lol.

Yeah, got past the tutorial and I don't know if I can keep playing. I'm not liking that I have to do the RTS missions to keep unlocking more of the visual novel. Especially with the game being 30-40 hours, I'm not sure if I can keep that up lol.
The battles do not take up as much time as the vn portion does and there is no penalty for doing the battles on easy mode if that helps.

The Cafe's a bit far from me, but I think I'll try to get a reservation there before it closes. I'll post some pictures if I manage to go!

Big spoiler story question clarification

So throughout the game there are two main problems that needed solving before the invasion.

1. The D-Code that is calling the Kaijus to invade.
2. DD-426 that has infected the Sentinels and render them un-usable.

Okino used DD-426 to de-couple the D-code from the nanomachines. But the downside is the users would lost their memories like what happened to Sekigahara and Shinonome.

As for the infected Sentinels I read in the files that Okino and Miura fixed them in 1945, but I don't remember what they did? Because that was a big problem that affected Gouto and Morimura. And how did they apply the fix to all the other affected Sentinels?

Could someone help me out a bit for this segment.

In takatoshi hijyama around 70% or so.

The loop where
ogata
is blocking you from the cat with the coin. I'm looking up guides and trying what they mention and it's not triggering anything.

Oh nvm... I kept running off to the cafeteria lmao. Had to do something on the same map. Man some of these triggers are a bit tricky! Most of the game is pretty straightforward

Back from holiday now and diving back in. Just kept playing the combat waves and hit my first block saying I need to do Miura's VN section. Funny how little I'm understanding in the battle story scenes and how confusing it all is. It seems to have the time jump around storytelling that Toyama used in the (Forbidden) Siren series. Hopefully it makes sense at some point since the mind boggles right now.

The VN segments tell the story leading up to the battle.

It will. It's a fairly straightforward story, just told in a disjointed fashion.

Finished the game yesterday. Took me 22 hours to platinum. The game left me wanting more - it's one heck of a ride. I enjoyed most of it, some nitpicks aside (one major is how underdeveloped all the romances are). I do hope Vanillaware makes a similar game in the future.

What is Vanillaware's track record for making DLCs? Any chance they'll create some expansions?

Doesn't have to be anything as intricate and complex as the main game, I just want to see more of these characters.

They could also add some variety into the Destruction missions through this.

I stand corrected. LOL. Sorry.

But i still think we won't get any for this.

It really doesn't need it, tbh.

It's definitely a long shot, but I hope the game does well enough to justify it.

For now I guess I'll have to settle for the anthology comics.

I finished the game last weekend and I'm still thinking about it. Not because it was deep beyond belief or anything like that. But because the way the game managed to keep its spaghetti "mess" of a story mostly cohesive and use every sci-fi trope imaginable without feeling stale is a massive achievement in itself. I also really enjoyed the story/storytelling and characters, so it'll stay with me for a good while. Definitely in my top three this year, with Wasteland 3 and Ghost of Tsushima.

Yep. I'd say it's my #2 for the year right behind TLOU2 with Ghost coming in third.

✋ Own all of Vanillaware's games, was not on my radar at all until Greg Kasavin tweeted about wanting to play it a few days before release.

I'm still early in, and while I find Kamitani still hitting you over the head with pervy tropes even more out of place here than usual, I'm hooked further into the layered mystery with each new wtf scene. Liking the RTS elements as well, the audiovisual cues are slick and satisfying. Agreed the soundtrack is dope as well.

Absolutely a game that rewards you sticking with and take time.

Quick question: I'm about to start up the game and would like to know, what's the consensus on the dub? Good, bad, or just average?

Just beat two of those before playing this on my Vita and my god they were amazing. Some of the best DLCs I've ever played. Good stories too.

Cross my fingers then.

Adding more mission types would be nice and 'relatively simple' to add I think.

But I really hope we get some story expansion, doesn't have to be anything complex like the main game.

Quick question: I'm about to start up the game and would like to know, what's the consensus on the dub? Good, bad, or just average?

I think it's very good.

Great game, vanillawares best or at least my favourite of their games
I wonder how the structure of the game effects different peoples views on the characters. like for example i left Ryoko as one of the last characters to do, pretty much all the twists/turns in her story had already been revealed by other paths so it was a bit flat.

Lol at ending

Megumi and Juro getting the spotlight at the regular ending. What a trash couple

Finished this last night, great game and only a few small nitpicks but overall a lovely visual novel.

I saw people say there's an extra cut scene, what is it? I uninstalled the game, is the clip on Youtube or do I have to install it again?

I'd definitely double dip on a Switch version, you can see the Vita DNA in the game and the battles would be easier to rattle through in handheld mode.

There is a short extra scene in the Event Archive. I've looked through some of the Youtube vidos of the ending but none of them includes that scene. If you are really curious might want to reinstall (game is not that big anyway, right?)

The amount of enemies and effects in the end led to such huge fps drops on my side that I was wondering how that must have been on Vita xD

Yeah. It's really interesting how everyone experiences the story and its many twists/revelations differently depending on the path they take. One of the many things that make this game such a unique and ambitious creation.

Is the event archive supposse to be in chronological order within the same sector? I'm noticing for example "Sentinel Pilot Juro Izumi" Is listed after "A relentless nightmare" despite taking place a year earlier.

Okay, I just beat the prologue

And the game has completely opened up. I thought this was going to be scattered storytelling in a linear way, but this is full on choose where to put your focus. I am so in.

I have to get to work, but I did one battle wave after finally having the ability to upgrade and just... Yes. It's overwhelming. There are so many options I haven't begun to comprehend, but I get the timing and type of attacks and that's making this so much fun. I'm putting most of my focus in the meta-system so I can use auto-cooldown and multiple meta-skills. Something I only touched when the tutorial forced me to since there was only one use for it. There's so much potential. I'm playing on normal and got an S-Rank, but I imagine that will scale fast enough. I hope I can replay on a harder difficulty.

i have a quick question, since im starting a new job soon, i was wondering if this game can be played in quick session or is it better to play it in long session since it's heavy story related?

I'm very grateful for this thread, I probably wouldn't have heard of this game without it. I'll grab the game after my exams are over in November, can't wait.

you can do short bursts. the game is structured around characters and each character reaches 'chapter ends', you can also reach full locks with a character until progress is made with another. And the battle system each battle in itself isn't super time consuming, there's just a total of like 31 scenarios or so of them that are story mandated.

Question will be how much enjoyment you can get from a game that is so story heavy if you just play small bits here and there, but that'll be on you to decide if you get it.

This game is broken up into many bit sized chunks that are like 5 - 10 mins each. So i'd say it's pretty ideal to play in quick sessions.

Neither are 'wrong' but I find that I can remember details for story points better when I play it in quick sessions.

Things can get hard to keep track when I play long sessions and jumping between character stories.

Each story branch takes only about 15-20 mins to clear at most.

Is the event archive supposse to be in chronological order within the same sector? I'm noticing for example "Sentinel Pilot Juro Izumi" Is listed after "A relentless nightmare" despite taking place a year earlier.

I think it's because the characters remember the flashbacks in chronological order?

Yeah this game is great. They know how to keep you on your toes. Finally unlocked Miura's story.

Speaking of, why the hell is Odin Sphere on current gem consoles but not Muramasa. Seriously, that's so annoying.

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir really did a lot to improve Odin Sphere, the combat system is so much better.

I think it would help those fans of Vanillaware that don't own a Vita (as well as those that want a new Vanillaware action game that never played Muramasa on Wii either) if they ported Muramasa Rebirth to consoles and/or PC, since all those DLCs added together is like a new Vanillaware game in itself - all the DLC characters have completely new models/art/animations/combat systems and they have no relation to the main story of Muramasa and are very much standalone. It would be an easy win for Vanillaware/Atlus, no idea why they've not done it yet, although with the recent success of another popular Atlus game that was stuck on Vita (P4: Golden) ported to PC, maybe Atlus will port Muramasa Rebirth + all the DLCs? Fingers crossed.

EDIT: Just realised Muramasa was published by Marvelous, not Atlus. Doh.
