Yeah the 2000s/Early 2010s were a different time. Much of the gaming content on YouTube was dominated by Machinima productions in Theater modes with low quality voiceovers. I wouldn't dare try to re-watch this kind of stuff now but I will say that I absolutely loved it as a 13 year old.
