I'm not talking about showing damage numbers.
Visual damage cues have literally -nothing- to do with CPU though
It's not really a tech hangup, the issue is having to concept, model and texture all that
If an enemy's gonna have a health bar, they better have a number tied to that health bar as well,
What a weird nitpick to call "one of the worst" parts of modern gaming. Really?
Yeah, at least it's not stamina bars. What a weird nitpick to call "one of the worst" parts of modern gaming. Really?
Not as bad as numbers flying out of enemies as you shoot them. But yeah still annoying
I wanna say old Assassin's Creed enemies didn't have health bars in the traditional sense. Hitting the enemy would just make it more likely that you would do the context sensitive kill animation with the next attack.Aside from invincible ones, don't all enemies technically have health bars?
- Floating health bars.
- Enemies all have level indicators.
- Get your sweet loot!
- Eleven types of crafting resources, four of them ultra rare.
- Daily and weekly challenges in a single player game.
- Skill tree that like a computer science exam question.
Nah, I don't like it in RPGs. I like the mystery of whether or not the thing is about to die or not. They work great for some games like RPGs and MMOs, but the option to turn off would be fantastic. The more UI options the better.
I think you missed grammar and parts-of-speech day at school. They don't bother me, personally.
By the way, "Immersion-breaking" is not a verb. "Distracting" or "unrealistic" are fine, legitimate words to use to get that point across.
